My name is Leigh-Ann Wood-Pottle and I am very excited to be working with you all.
I am a General Paediatrician with a keen interest in Developmental Paediatrics. I am currently working with Dr. Henriette Saunders and Butterfly Kids.
I completed my MBCHB at the University of Stellenbosch in 2011 and then proceeded to move to Northern Kwazulu-Natal where I spent the next five and half years doing my internship at Ngwelezane Hospital and then my community service and medical officer time at Queen Nandi Hospital in Empangeni which is a mother and child hospital.
I then started my specialist paediatric training through the University of Stellenbosch at Tygerberg Hospital in 2016 of which my first year was based at Paarl Provincial Hospital. I completed my MMED and FCPaed in 2020.
I then joined the neurodevelopmental team at Tygerberg Hospital Paediatrics Outpatient department in July of 2021 on a sessional basis. The developmental clinic runs in liaison with the paediatric neurology outpatient clinic thus I have gained valuable experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of developmental and neurological conditions.
I have additional training in the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) which is used as a specialist diagnostic instrument in the assessment and diagnosis of possible autism spectrum disorders.
I have been working with Dr. Henriette Saunders at Butterfly Kids in Paarl since December 2021 and is based at the Neurodiversity Centre in Durbanville since March 2022.
